Washington State PTA legislative assembly meeting took place Oct 20th and 21st at Green River College in Auburn. Advocacy director Biwei Dong attended the meeting.  WSPTA advocates for every child, so that every child has a voice. During the meeting attendants debated, amended and voted on long-term resolutions that were brought last spring and voted on new short-term platform issues that WSPTA will focus on in the upcoming legislative session.

2018-2020 WSPTA top 5 issues:

  1. Social emotional learning
  2. School construction and simple majority for bonds
  3. Prevent gun violence
  4. Strategies to address the teacher shortage
  5. Strategic K-12 investments to close gaps
