Chinese New Year is coming! Chinese parents will collaborate with Sunny Hills Elementary School to provide our students with the opportunity to explore Chinese culture. There will be Chinese Kongfu show, Chinese dance performance and Chinese instrument performance, during the recess time from 1:50-3:10 on Feb 3 rd . Shout out to all of the Sunny Hills families who generously donated toys and gifts to the Holiday Gift Barn. All of the toys and gifts were delivered and the volunteering team was very thankful. I was able to visit the Gift Barn on Dec 5 th and found a lot of smiling faces. This year, Sunny Hills donated 85 toys, plus clothing items as well. Power Packs Program
Power Packs is a program offered through Sunny Hills in partnership with the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank.  Many students need help outside of the regular school day with food.  The program offers free, non-perishable breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack foods for the weekend.  Each student who signs up will receive a bag of non-perishable food delivered to their backpack on Thursdays or Fridays of every week at school.  If you would like to sign up to receive Power Packs or have any questions about the program, please contact Celina Schulenberg, the Sunny Hills School Counselor.  Celina can be reached ... read full article

Thanksgiving Food Drive
Food donations will be collected between October 25 th and November 8 th and can be placed in food drive baskets in the entrance of the school.  The food bank is most in need of the following items: holiday items like canned pumpkin, sauce, stuffing, cream of mushroom soup, canned yams, beef, chicken or vegetable broth, cake mixes (chocolate, vanilla, spice), and pancake mix, along with regularly requested items like brand-named cereal, canned chicken, canned tuna, pasta sauce (jar), white rice, Rice a Roni/Hamburger Helper, jam, baby wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dish soap.
