Introducing ... Kids' Night Out!
Sunny Hills PTA is thrilled to announce our first Kids' Night Out event, a drop-off event that's sure to be hit with students and parents alike. This event is scheduled for Friday, May 9, and will feature Despicable Me 2. Registration opens April 25. Click here for more information.

Staff Appreciation Week!
The Staff Appreciation Committee invites our Sunny Hills families to show your appreciation for our teachers and staff during Staff Appreciation Week, April 21-25. Say THANK YOU and BON VOYAGE as the Sunny Hills Staff sets sail for a week on the USS URAppreciated! We need your help to make this week a big success! Sign up to help with food/coffee and other volunteer opportunities, or see the week's itinerary for more details about how you can help.

Metro Bus Tickets
Renewing your tabs? You can help our community! When you renew your tabs and pay a congestion fee, you'll receive a flyer for free Metro bus tickets. Please consider completing your form and mailing it in. Once you receive the free bus tickets, turn them in to the Sunny Hills office. The tickets will then be donated to students and families in need at Tiger Mountain Community High School. (One form is processed by King County Metro per family.) Questions: dawisler@msn.com

March GM Meeting Recap
We had another great Sunny Hills PTA General Membership Meeting on Thursday, March 20th in the Sunny Hills' Library. Principal Lederman held a "Principal Q&A" at 6pm and provided updates on the school rebuild schedule, safety improvements, Transition from MSP to Smarter Balanced assessment testing, and 2014-15 Class placement process.  We are fortunate to have such a supportive, informed, and involved principal, like Mrs. Lederman, at our school! Our General Membership Meeting began at 6:30pm. Race to the TOP Final Results
Check out the Final Standings for the "Race to the Top" Classroom Challenge!   Mrs. Kim's class secured the win with most donations ($2,135), followed by Mrs. Melton's class ($1,771), and Mrs. Foryan's class ($1,671) Mrs. Melton's class took back the lead for the win at 98%, followed by Mrs. Belcher's class at 94%, and Ms. Foryan's class at 88%.   Mrs. Kim's and Mrs. Melton's classes will each receive an awesome "Cherry on TOP" Ice Cream Sundae Party. March President's Message
March is already in full swing with lots of rain and wind in the Northwest.  It is also our big "Pass the Hat" Fundraising month at Sunny Hills.  As a result of membership feedback at the end of last year, we developed a new "Pass the Hat" fundraising campaign this year.  "Pass the Hat" is an active fundraising campaign that allows you to make ONE DONATION for all PTA fundraising needs.
