Important! Scripps Spelling Bee!

REGISTRATION OPEN UNTIL January 11th @ 5:00PM!

Does your child have a passion for words and spelling? Scripps National Spelling Bee program declares a speller (or more) as the Champion every year! This is a great platform for children at all levels to develop and exhibit their spelling abilities. Round 1 (written spelling competition) will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2026, at 5:00PM in the Sunny Hills MPR.

Bridges of Belonging
The Issaquah PTSA Council invites all students in the Issaquah School District (K–12) to participate in our new program, Bridges of Belonging: A Student Empowerment & Challenge Program. Students will have the opportunity to become leaders, identify a challenge in their school or community related to belonging, and create a solution. Please check details here.

Students may participate individually or as part of a team. They will choose from four challenge topics, create a solution, and present it in a short video or visual project.
Key Dates:

  • Register here by: January 31, 2026.
  • Project Submission Deadline: February 28, 2026
  • All participants will receive a certificate and prize
  • Top 8 finalists will present during a  Meet, Eat & Inspire Event on June 2, 2026 with school district leaders and community advocates.

Washington State PTA Recognizes Sunny Hills Elementary PTA with the Gold Membership Growth Award


Sunny Hills Elementary PTA has recently been recognized by Washington State PTA as a Gold Membership Growth Award recipient! PTAs are presented with this award for enrolling at least 10% more members this year than last year. That means our PTA is growing! Thank you to everyone who has become a member so far this year: YOU are the reason our PTA achieved this award! The Math Challenge 2025–2026 is open to all students — no sign-up required! Starting September 12, 2025, a new set of math problems will be posted every two weeks until May 8, 2026. Students complete the challenges at home and can discuss them with family and friends. Those who participate regularly will be eligible for prizes🏅.
